Can I Switch to Briant Broadband if I’m Mid-Contract?

If you’re in the middle of a contract things can be trickier. If your current provider is delivering everything they promised when you signed up for the package you’re currently using, there isn’t much you can do to get out of it without paying an additional fee. But there is a ‘however’!

However, if you signed up for a service and you’re not getting anything close to the speeds you were promised, if your service is unreliable, and it’s definitely a problem with your broadband provider then you should be able to get out of your contract.

Under the Consumer Protection Act goods and services must be “fit for purpose”, “of satisfactory quality”, and “as described”. So if you’re not receiving the speeds you expect whenever and as soon as you want it then you could have the right to get out of the contract before it expires (it should be noted that a supplier has the right under the act to try to put things right, but if they can’t, you have the right to change suppliers without incurring any extra costs).
