Government Rural Gigabit Voucher Scheme

Briant Broadband are registered under the Government Rural Gigabit Voucher Scheme, a programme designed to support the cost of installing gigabit broadband to homes and businesses in rural areas of the UK. Click here for more information.

If you're getting speeds under 100Mbps in your rural area and need a faster connection, you may be eligible for a rural voucher to fund installation of our fibre to your home. That means rapid giga-fast fibre installed directly into your home – and our supportive, local service to boot!

Then all that’s left to do, is pay your regular monthly service with us and enjoy hyper speeds of up to 1Gbps.

See if you’re eligible for the rural voucher scheme in your area with a postcode check.

Frequently Asked Questions

I don’t currently have broadband or I’m with another Internet Service Provider - what do I do?
We make signing up with us as easy as possible. Just fill in your details or give us a call and we’ll set you up, including contacting your current service provider if you already have one. Because you’re changing providers we’ll supply you with a new router.
How much does service activation cost?

Service activation cost depends on the plan you choose. 40Mbps and 80Mbps activation cost is £54 including VAT (£45 excl. VAT). 900Mbps activation cost is £180 including VAT – this includes installation for CPE (Customer Premises Equipment), associated mounting requirements and the router.

How long does it take to set up, and what happens on my Go-Live date?
Depending on where you live, we aim to get you up and running within 48 hours. On your Go-Live date, one of our engineers will come to your home/place of business to configure your service. Once they’ve finished you can get online and enjoy Briant Broadband.
What happens if I need to change or cancel my package?

If you’re on a monthly rolling plan you can change your Super-Fast or Ultra-Fast package at any time to better suit your usage. If you’re in an 18 month contract, reducing your package to a cheaper deal will incur a fee, relative to the remaining time left in your contract. Please note that in all cases, the ability to change your package depends on the service being available in your area.

You’re free to cancel your account at any time, but depending on the service you signed up for, and the time remaining on the contract, you may be liable for a cancellation fee. 18 month contracts will incur a fee for the remaining term while rolling monthly plans only require 30 days’ notice.

For help, please call us on 01903 221 999.

I don't need superfast broadband anymore – can I change my package speed?

We understand that your needs and uses for broadband can change (like children flying the nest, for example). That's why we offer monthly rolling packages, giving you complete flexibility to change, cancel or pause your broadband at any time. On a fixed-term contract, you pay a lower monthly price and agree to the speed and cost for its duration. However, we're not heartless – if you have extenuating circumstances, please do speak to us and we'll see what we can do to help you.

Can I register for Briant Broadband online?
At present, you can register for our broadband via our online form or by phone. We are working on an online self-service option, which will launch in the future.
I'm a house builder interested in your services, who do I contact?
If you're a house builder and are interested in using a local and friendly broadband provider to service a new build development, please send an email with details to info@briantbroadband.com and we'll contact you to discuss how we can help.
Is your data completely unlimited?
Yes. You have access to completely unlimited data with all our packages, subject to the standard fair-usage policy.
How do I know if I can get Briant Broadband at my address?

Please contact us on 01903 221 999 and we'll tell you which packages are currently available in your area. We are launching a self-service postcode checker in the near future.

What is an ISP, a WISP, and what’s the difference between Wi-Fi, fibre and Wired Internet?
An ISP is an Internet Service Provider. We sell you the data that you need to browse the web. A WISP is Wireless Internet Service Provider, so instead of feeding a cable into your home, we attach a discrete wireless transmitter and receiver to your property instead.
My connection speed is slow – what should I do?
If you're an existing customer, we'll work hard to get you back up to speed – just call customer services on 01903 221 999 to speak to our team.
If you're shopping around for a new internet provider because of slow speeds, contact us and we'll see if we can provide you with a faster service that suits your needs.
How do I login to my account?
We are working on a new customer portal where you can manage your account. In the meantime, please contact us to make any changes to your details, receive copies of bills, access customer support.
What is Mbps?
'Mbps' stands for 'megabits per second'. Each megabit is 1,000 bits and represents the maximum speed at which your connection can download information over the internet.
How do I test my broadband speed?
There are lots of tools available online to test the speed of your connection. Either search for 'broadband speed test' or head to www.fast.com.
What is the difference between WIFI and a wired connection?

WIFI wirelessly enables you to connect to the internet on a mobile device or computer. A wired connection requires the use of an ethernet cable that plugs into the back of your router.

Note: Our routers can be used for both wired and wireless internet connections. Max speeds with a wireless device may vary as the hardware inside your device may only be capable of receiving WIFI speeds up to a certain limit. Wired internet connections generally do not have this limitation.

Will speeds go up and down?
Speeds may vary depending on the time of day and overall usage, but we will never throttle your speed intentionally.
