I'm not with a broadband provider, how do I sign up to Briant Broadband?
It's easy. Either fill out our quick contact form or give us a call on 01903 221 999.

How do I switch from BT / Virgin / Sky / Vodafone to Briant Broadband?
Easily. Go through our speedy sign up process and we'll take care of the rest, including contacting your previous provider.

How much does your broadband cost?
From £20 depending on package. Our affordable broadband prices start from just £20 per month.

How much does service activation cost?
Service activation cost depends on the plan you choose.

40Mbps and 80Mbps activation cost is £54 including VAT (£45 excl. VAT). 1Gbps activation cost is £180 including VAT – this includes installation for CPE (Customer Premises Equipment), associated mounting requirements and the router.

How long does broadband take to set up?
Though it depends on your postcode area, we can have you browsing, streaming and gaming to your heart's content within 48 hours.

What happens on my go live date?
On your 'go-live' date, you will have a pre-arranged visit from one of our engineers, who will install and configure your broadband.

Will I need a new router if I was with another provider?
Yes. Since most providers configure their routers to work specifically with their broadband service, we provide you with a brand-new router for free.

Can I change my package speed at any time?
Changing your package speed depends on your postcode, primarily because certain services may not yet be available in your area.

When does the minimum contract term begin?
Your contract term begins from the date we activate your broadband connection.

What if I need to cancel my service?
You're free to cancel your service with us at any time, but depending on your chosen package, and your remaining contract term, you may be liable for a cancellation fee.

If you're on an 18 month contract, there will be a cancellation fee for the remaining term. If you're on a monthly rolling contract, you only need to give 30 day's notice.

I don't need superfast broadband anymore – can I change my package speed?
We understand that your needs and uses for broadband can change (like children flying the nest, for example). That's why we offer monthly rolling packages, giving you complete flexibility to change, cancel or pause your broadband at any time.

On a fixed-term contract, you pay a lower monthly price and agree to the speed and cost for its duration. However, we're not heartless – if you have extenuating circumstances, please do speak to us and we'll see what we can do to help you.

Can someone else manage my account for me?
Yes. We're very happy to speak to a non-account holder to manage an account, though permission must be given by the account holder first. To set this up, please contact us.

Can I register for Briant Broadband online?
At present, you can register for our broadband via our online form or by phone. We are working on an online self-service option, which will launch in the future.

Can I add a phone service?
Yes. You can add a phone package to any of our broadband packages for an extra cost.

I'm a property manager interested in your services, who do I contact?

Is your data completely unlimited?
Yes. You have access to completely unlimited data with all our packages, subject to the standard fair-usage policy.

What are you customer service hours and how do I get in contact?

How do I know if I can get Briant Broadband at my address?

What does WISP stand for?
Wireless Internet Service Provider

What does ISP stand for?
Internet Service Provider

What is the difference between WISP and ISP?
An ISP (Internet Service Provider) uses traditional cabling like copper telephone wire and/or fibre optics for wired delivery of internet into your home.

A WISP (Wireless Internet Service Provider) uses a 'mesh network' of 'nodes' and a small antenna mounted on the side of your property to wirelessly deliver internet into your home.

What is wireless internet and what are the benefits?
Wireless Internet is a means of providing High Speed Internet without using the existing copper cable infrastructure. The benefits include speed of deployment (within 48 hours) and no speed bottlenecks (an issue with existing copper cable).

My connection speed is slow – what should I do?
If you're an existing customer, we'll work hard to get you back up to speed – just call customer services on 01903 221 999 to speak to our team.
If you're shopping around for a new internet provider because of slow speeds, contact us and we'll see if we can provide you with a faster service that suits your needs.

How do I login to my account?
We are working on a new customer portal where you can manage your account. In the meantime, please contact us to make any changes to your details, receive copies of bills, access customer support.

Can I use my own extension cable(s)?

What is Mbps?
'Mbps' stands for 'megabits per second'. Each megabit is 1,000 bits and represents the maximum speed at which your connection can download information over the internet.

How do I test my broadband speed?
There are lots of tool available online to test the speed of your connection. Either search for 'broadband speed test' or head to www.fast.com.

What is the difference between WIFI and a wired connection?
WIFI wirelessly enables you to connect to the internet on a mobile device or computer. A wired connection requires the use of an ethernet cable that plugs into the back of your router.

Note: Our routers can be used for both wired and wireless internet connections. Max speeds with a wireless device may vary as the hardware inside your device may only be capable of receiving WIFI speeds up to a certain limit. Wired internet connections generally do not have this limitation.

Do you throttle the speed of your connections?
No – the only 'throttling' that occurs is to maintain the speed of the package that you signed up to.

Will speeds go up and down?
Speeds may vary depending on the time of day and overall usage, but we will never throttle your speed intentionally.
