Digital Freesat….Installed by Professionals

What is Freesat?

Freesat is a great alternative when due to poor Terrestrial TV reception Freeview is not available.  Freesat uses a small mini-dish and can be connected to existing Sky satellite dishes.  Like Freeview it is a non-subscription free to view service with a great range of Digital TV and Radio stations.

Due to Freesat’s larger bandwidth available they are able to offer up to 150 TV, Radio and Interactive services, many more than Freeview and currently have 5 HD channels up and running across the UK.

Below are just a few of the channels you could expect to find on Freesat:

Freesat+ and Freesat HD

Freesat+ enables you to record a program, or a series to a built in hard drive within your Freesat box and watch them back at a later date.  On your recorded programs you are able to fast forward, rewind and pause, giving you complete control of what you are watching.  It also allows you to pause live TV, so when the phone rings you don’t have to miss your favourite programs!

Freesat HD (High Definition) is now available across the UK and currently includes BBC HD, BBC One HD, ITV HD, Channel 4 HD and NHK World HD.  If you enjoy superb picture and sound quality then Freesat HD is a must, and with no monthly subscription why wouldn’t you?

All Freesat products offer an on screen channel guide (EPG), enabling you to search through the weeks upcoming programs, set reminders and with Freesat+ record to a built in memory on the box.

How can I receive Freesat?

In order to watch Freesat you need to have a Freesat receiver or a TV with Freesat built in, although unlike Freeview these are not as widely available.  Also you must be connected to a Satellite dish aligned to the same Astra satellite that is used by Sky.  A standard Freesat receiver can be purchased for around £50.

The benefit of Freesat over Freeview it provides a greater range of services and until the digital switchover is complete it provides a far more reliable reception.

If you want that little extra Freesat HD receivers can be purchased for around £100 and Freesat+ recordable receivers for around £240.
